This original print come from the art book called, "Stage Folks, A Book of Caricatures" drawn by American artist Alfred J Frueh. The book was published in 1922 and featured caricatures of famous stage artists of the time. Alfred J Frueh was born in Ohio in 1880, studied art in Europe between 1908 and 1909, and moved to New York to join the staff of 'New Yorker Magazine', which published his works until 1962. This piece features was an English-born American actress and suffragist Julia Marlowe. The thick stock paper the print is mounted on is quite brittle. At almost 100 years old, we would suggest carefully removing the print from the paper and mount it on something a bit more stable. Or mount the entire piece and frame as is. These prints are exceptionally rare! You won't be able to find one for sale elsewhere.
