About Derrière le Miroir:

The long running French Art Magazine "Derrière le miroir" was published from 1946 until 1982 (253 issues). Established and edited by Aime Maeght, the French art dealer featured artists exhibited in his gallery, including: Georges Braque, Alexander Calder, Henri Matisse, and Vassily Kandinsky.

About the artist:

Joan Miro was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and ceramicist born in Barcelona Spain in April of 1893. He was an influential figure in the 20th century avant-garde painting scene. Miro's innovative use of line, organic shapes, and color represents a major contribution to the Surrealist movement. Miro often worked with a limited color palette, yet the colors he used were bold and expressive.
