About this piece:

This piece comes from one of the largest and finest works of the French malacologist and palaeontologist Gérard Paul Deshayes. "Description des animaux sans vertèbres découverts dans la Bassin de Paris" was first published in 1856 in seven volumes. Four different artists were brought on to create the brilliant works. Out of the few prints we found in our archive, two of these artists are represented; Lackerbauer and Delahaye.
