This piece comes from one of the largest and finest works of the French malacologist and palaeontologist Gérard Paul Deshayes. "Description des animaux sans vertèbres découverts dans la Bassin de Paris" was first published in 1856 in 7 volumes. Four different artists were brought on to create the brilliant works. Out of our 4 prints we found in our archive, two of these artist are represented Lackerbauer and Delahaye.
This piece is in excellent condition with some slight toning around the edges. Creased lower right corner.
